3. Food Donation Guidelines

  2. Accepted Items: Donations must comply with local, state, and federal food safety laws and the specific guidelines of our partner food bank(s). Generally, this means items must be:
  • Non-perishable (e.g., canned goods, dry pasta, boxed items).
  • Unopened and in their original packaging.
  • Not expired (i.e., within their “Best By” or “Use By” date).
  1. Refusal of Donations: the Healing of America Foundation, the Government Shutdown Food Drive organizers, and our designated drop-off locations reserve the right to refuse any donation that is deemed unsafe, expired, opened, or does not comply with the guidelines in Section 3.B.

4. Limitation of Liability

You understand and agree that the use of this website and your participation in the food drive is at your own risk.

  1. Website Content: We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information on this website (including drop-off hours or location details) and are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on it.
  2. Food Distribution: the Healing of America Foundation and the Government Shutdown Food Drive organizers are acting as facilitators for the collection and distribution of donated food. Once food items are delivered to the partner food bank(s), we are not responsible for their subsequent storage, handling, or distribution.
  3. Drop-Off Locations: You agree that the Healing of America Foundation and the Government Shutdown Food Drive organizers are not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or loss that may occur while you are visiting or dropping off donations at any designated third-party drop-off location.

5. Intellectual Property

The content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Healing of America Foundation and Government Shutdown Food Drive or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright laws.
